
I collaborated with the home office to fully rewrite and improve the guidance for employers getting criminal record checks on prospective employees.
The guidance was confusing and causing employers to miss out on applicants because they weren't able to get checks on time. There were also fraudulent companies offering 'faster' checks that were ranking higher on search so there was a need to offer a reliable source of truth.
Our improvement project focussed on clarifying the responsibility of each party and the difference between each type of check.
